Terms of use
Terms, in plain words.

What ChargeGauge is
A forward-looking watch brief on a possible NSW EV road-user charge. General information only, not tax or legal advice. No per-kilometre charge is in force in NSW as at 28 September 2026.
Scheduled rates
Published 2026–27 scheduled rates: 3.095¢/km for battery and hydrogen EVs, 2.476¢/km for plug-in hybrids [checked 2026-09-28]. Scheduled, not in force, re-verified every July. The post-Vanderstock legal footing is unresolved and NSW is still assessing implications.
The estimator
The estimator applies scheduled rates for illustration. It is not a bill and not a prediction of what you will pay. If a charge ever starts, the real rules come from legislation, not from us.
Price
One plan: A$19 per year, AUD, GST incl. No payment is taken during the research build. Founding-rate reservations lock A$19/yr for launch; nothing is charged until the alert service launches.
Refunds
Every launch purchase carries a 14-day money-back guarantee: email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, processed within 5 business days, no questions asked. No change-of-mind refunds outside the 14-day window. ACL consumer guarantees apply regardless.
Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss arising from reliance on this information. See the full disclaimer.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Research stage
This is a staged research prototype. What is working, what is in build, and the research gate are listed on the home page's status board. A charge without a collection method is a press release, not a policy: if the premise fails, we say so.
